Abloy introduced the Product End of Life scheme (PEOL) in yet another stride to increase sustainability. The scheme gives customers the opportunity to remove obsolete hardware from their existing installations.

Obsolete products are removed during the installation process of new products. Removed products are sent back to the Portobello site where they are handled securely and ready to be recycled.

“Not only does this new process remove the burden on our customers having to dispose of products themselves but this approach ensures that we reduce our long-term impact on the environment” states Antonina Realmuto EMEA Environmental Manager.

“This is a great example of the operations team working with the commercial business units bringing benefits to both ASSA ABLOY and our customers from a sustainability perspective” adds Matthew Daly UK Business Improvement and Sustainability Manager.
