At ABLOY, we believe that ‘our people are our greatest strength’, and that knowledge is key to our continued success. For many years, we have encouraged our team members to study with the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers working towards the final qualification as a DiPGAI.

In the UK ABLOY is a small, but highly qualified team and this year we had just under 10% of our total workforce studying and working towards this qualification.

It has been another great year in terms of the results achieved.

ABLOY UK is proud to confirm that we now have a new fully qualified DiPGAI team member Lisa O’Flynn Chanel Development Manager, for the Finance and Government sectors at ABLOY UK.

Lisa now joins this small and exclusive club of qualified Architectural Ironmongers, having studied for three years.

The qualification is recognised in the industry and provides the customer with confidence, safe in the knowledge that they are dealing with a fellow professional.

ABLOY UK is proud to confirm that Duncan Rigby, our Specification Development Manager, who is already a fully qualified Master Locksmith has achieved a ‘Distinction’ at level 2 earning him the GAI Certificate in Architectural Hardware.

Just one more year of studying will complete Duncan’s path to become qualified as a DipGAI.

ABLOY is proud to confirm that Gary Frostour Systems Integrator Chanel Manager, has passed his year 1 exams and is well on the way to become yet another qualified Architectural Ironmonger at ABLOY UK.

Well done Gary, let’s keep it progressing, one more year to reach the GAI Certificate in Architectural Hardware, and a final year to full qualification.

Congratulations to all of the newly qualified DiPGAI’s throughout the country who have all studied hard to achieve this important and demanding qualification. In today’s ever-changing and demanding markets where compliance is key to life safety, we can never afford just to make do, and as end-users and specifiers, we should always look to ensure that those that we trust to provide specifications for Fire and Escape applications are professionally competent. There is no better way of achieving this than using a fully qualified member of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers.

Of course, passing the exam is only stage one, and all qualified Architectural Ironmongers have to participate in Continued Professional Development programs, to keep their qualification relevant and up to date.

ABLOY UK are experts in Electric Locking market sector, offering Escape and Fire compliant solutions for all types of Electric Locking applications. We are always keen to share our knowledge and expertise through the Academy at ABLOY.
