What do you need to know about the new £1 coin?
As the new £1 coin comes into circulation on the 28th of March 2017, for a period of time the new and old £1 coin will both be in circulation this period will be from March 2017 to September 2017.
Following the six month co-circulation period, the current £1 coin will no longer be legal tender.
What is the impact on your current coin operated lockers?
A huge number of coin-operated lockers are currently configured to work with £1 coins. With the new design being introduced, coin locks cannot be operated by the new one pound coin, so they will need to be converted or replaced. We can offer a solution for this.
Don't get left behind - The Public will expect their coins to work in lockers as soon as they enter circulation, so it’s important to start dealing with any potential issues right now.
How can ABLOY help you in this transition?
Abloy has a range of cost effective solutions that can be easily installed in your current lockers. Two coin locks; the Classic and E-lite have been designed to accept both the current and new £1 coin.
Conversion kits for the Classic Coin Lock are available so you can easily convert your existing ASSA Locks.
